This device complies with the requirements of IEC61591-2005 and GB/T 1236-2000. It is suitable for measuring the air volume and aerodynamic performance of range hoods (A: range hoods with internal blowers, B: recirculating range hoods with internal blowers, C: range hoods with external blowers for indoor use, D: range hoods with blowers for external use). It can test range hoods and ventilation fans with a maximum air volume of 26 m³/min and a maximum static pressure of 900 Pa. It can measure performance indicators such as the air flow rate and static pressure difference of the tested appliance, and allows for the selection of test environment temperature and atmospheric pressure.

I. System Overview

This test system utilizes an intelligent industrial control integrated system for control, featuring a large-size computer display and operation. It automatically measures, records, and prints test reports, and can analyze test results and data to meet the needs of product development and production.

This test system can plot corresponding curves for static pressure vs. air volume, air volume vs. speed, current, power, efficiency, etc. According to the method in Appendix A, when the appliance operates at rated voltage and rated frequency at the highest speed setting, its declared values shall comply with the specifications in Table 1:

II. Test Principle and Layout

This solution adopts a blowing test mode. The nozzle combination is automatically opened based on the set air volume, and the frequency of the auxiliary fan is infinitely adjusted via a frequency converter to control the air volume. The middle of the air chamber consists of a flow-straightening orifice plate, nozzles, an actuation mechanism, and a nozzle plate. The air chamber interface size is 600mm × 600mm. This system automatically calculates the fan air volume by measuring the pressure difference before and after the nozzle. During operation, the range hood performance test device is activated. The air volume of the auxiliary fan is controlled by adjusting the opening and closing combination of the air chamber nozzles and the current frequency of the frequency conversion device. The static pressure corresponding to the air volume is measured using a high-precision micro-manometer, thereby obtaining the corresponding data of the tested fan's air volume and static pressure, and plotting the air volume vs. static pressure curve.
